Should have taken it slower. On the 5th flight I planted the 500 - straight down... Went out flying after work after not getting in the air for a week. Should have taken it slower. On the 5th flight I planted the 500 - straight down from about 25 feet. It was about 100 yards away, so I had trouble seeing it clearly and couldn't regain orientation after it got into an "unusual attitude". Fought it all the way down, and hit TH at about 6 feet. It was movin'!

I had to look for almost 10 minutes before I found the bird. She went straight down into a 5' tall hedge. I only found it because of the hole it left in the top of the hedge. Got lucky - the hedge cushioned the crash! Stripped the main gear and the tail drive gear. Put a lot of "flex points" in the canopy . And bent one canopy mount. All in all I got REAL lucky. I had 104 flights on the 500 without a crash, so I was due.

Oh - one more thing. I now have a Blue Lipo that hinges in the center. It's sitting in an ammo can on the patio. It's not broken, it's just a bit bendy. I think I'll try charging it this weekend - I'll put the charger in the middle of the driveway. Might be interesting.
